What kind of events does SAL organize?
-
Many different ones: We organize guest lectures - recently, we’ve had visits from alum Matt Burnett who talked about his Cartoon Network show, Craig of the Creek; Pixar director and storyboard artist, Aphton Corbin; alum storyboard artist and director Kacey Hermanson, and, in collaboration with The Collective, we’ve also held an event with Oscar-winner Matthew A. Cherry, director of Hair Love.
-
Apart from guest lectures, every year in May we organize the Spring Animation Festival - a lineup of the wonderful work done by students at the Animation Area. The festival is well known and visited by industry professionals, so it’s a great way to get your work out there.
-
Our newest event is Life Drawing. Whether you're an experienced sketcher or complete beginner, this event is for everyone! In a park, museum, or classroom, with the company of fellow art enthusiasts, this is the perfect time for creativity and camaraderie.
-
And of course, we have a lot of other fun events like mixers between sound students, actors, composers, live-action students and animation students, film screenings, and many more!
